Furus consists of 5 sub-villages and over 800 homes with a population of nearly 3000. The community has a large number of families with the surname Parkar. Other common surnames are Maruf, Sunge, Tiseker, Sain, Kazi, and Masurkar. Surnames like Tambe, Chishti, Alvi, Gamre, Pawar, Navrat, Mahadik, Ghanekar and many more also exist in smaller numbers.
